New Job: Deputy Pannell

Jason started his new job on July 7, 2008 with the Valley County Sheriff's Department as a patrol deputy. He has been working for several weeks, receiving training underneath many of his supervisors. He finally was sworn in on July 31, 2008 and passed off his gun-certification with flying colors! He had told them that he had very little hand gun experience, but that most of his gun experience was with a rifle (hunting). So, they trained him yesterday and tested him. The qualifying score has to be an 85% to pass, and he was so excited to receive a 98%. Yeah! After struggling in college for seven years, at last he has found something he is totally confident in and good at! He only missed four shots out of 75 (and the four he missed were still within the grey area range). I took a picture of my cute husband in uniform. He's thinkin' skinny in these pants, because he ordered the wrong size. But, he still looks "hot". He doesn't have his gun in this picture - it was taken the first day he finally got his full uniform.
He is so excited to be able to go out into the community, interact with people, and hopefully make a difference. It definitely pays to be a government employee (on the benefit side of things). Benefits? What's that? After being self-employed for 8 years, benefits are much appreciated! While the pay may not be fantastic, the benefits surely out-weigh it! We feel so blessed to have this job, to have this opportunity to stay in Valley County, and ultimately stay in our ward (where Jason was called to the Bishopric), to live in the mountains and raise our children here. I am so proud of him and his desire to be a good citizen, a good representative of the Savior, AND a good father and HUSBAND. In my eyes, he rocks! I Love you, Deputy Pannell!

Woot woot! I have SUCH a HOTTIE for a brother!
You guys both have been such great examples. Thank you for the testimonies given, the memories shared, laughs provoked, tears shed, and hugs given.
Wish we could be closer to share in them.
[this job really is a fantastic one for Jason's abilities] :]
