Feeding the Ducks!

Jason had been promising the kids that we could go and feed the ducks for weeks, because the kids kept asking him. Why do the kids keep asking him? Well, because there are ducks everywhere. They are on every relatively large mass of water (not just the lakes, rivers, and creeks), but everywhere. With the massive piles of snow that are rapidly melting into little ponds, the ducks have made a home for themselves EVERYWHERE. This has been quite fun to see. And the kids have a contest when we drive in the car to see who can spy the most ducks!

So, we finally took an afternoon with the kids and went over to the bridge that crosses Cascade Lake on your way to Tamarack, and yes... fed the ducks. We knew we were guaranteed to find ducks here, which we did. There were nearly 50 plus on the lake. And unfortunately, they were too far to actually feed. However, we threw our bread in anyway and watched it float downstream, hoping it would reach them....

This was only a brief stop, since cars travel over this bridge quite often.

Man, who dressed these girls? Sundresses, tights, and cowgirl boots???

Everybody hug the rail... there's a car coming!

Well, the feeding frenzy was a success. We went home and had pizza & a movie night!
